Colosseum Hotels
One of Imperial Rome’s greatest symbols, the Colosseum is an amphitheatre built between 72AD and 80AD by the Emperors Vespasian and Titus as a venue for gladiatorial combats. It also played host to mock sea battles, executions, re-enactments of famous battles and dramas based on Classical mythology. At 189 metres long, 156 metres wide and 48 metres high, it remains an imposing landmark and is immensely popular with visitors to Rome.
